Who’s behind all this, anyway?
I really believe it is important to be transparent and not hide behind a brand name. So, let me introduce my self… My name is Andrej Mikula and I am the organizer of MEKUIA KIZOMBA FESTIVAL. “Me kuia” means “I like” in Angolan slang and hence “mekuia kizomba” is indeed a festival for all people who like kizomba.
Just a side note: Yes, I know Mikula and Mekuia sounds similar, but no, I am not that narcistic 🙂
First things first…
- You can find my personal Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/andrejmikula.
- The official instance organizing the festival will be my company called Time Management, s.r.o registred in Bratislava, Slovakia under the 47 624 671 identification number.
- In my day job I run a management training and consultancy company, doing workshops and events for people. During night and weekends I dance kizomba. If you’ve ever been dancing in Bratislava, we probably know each other. Now, I’ve decided to organize another kizomba festival simply because I want another opportunity to dance while listening to brilliant DJs and learning from the best artists.
Why am I doing this?
The original name for this event, more than a year ago, was KAMBAS KIZOMBA. “Kamba” means a friend in slang and this still remains the main idea.
I want to create a festival for friends. Not thousands of anonymous people. A festival that feels like home. A festival where you go to meet your kizomba family.
That’s why I am doing it La Fiesta and not in a cold hotel. That’s why I am inviting the artists that are awesome and friendly people before anything else. And hopefully that’s why you will love MEKUIA KIZOMBA FESTIVAL.
Because it will be a place without any dresscodes where you can just be your self and do what you love. A festival without any shows or interruptions so you can just dance all night (and morning). A festival for all people who like kizomba.
